Is someone getting the best of you?

I was riding home the other day when I was momentarily delayed by one of the local traffic control devices. Turned the radio on and started listening to a song. The artist kept singing "is someone getting the best of you?" So my brain began analyzing those words...
The first thing that came to mind was the negative thought associated with someone taking advantage of someone else. Why I veered to the negative I can't answer, but I usually go the other way. So who is getting the best of me? Wait a minute...
Who is getting the best of me? Can I honestly say my wife is getting the best of me? or are my children getting the best of me? How about my work commitments? My neighbors? My parents? School? The Almighty? The list goes on and on.
How do you answer this? If your looking for things in your life to change answer honestly! This particular question really is a question asking for change. Most of us only give pieces and parts, it really becomes a question that reveals selfishness begging to morph into selflessness. Am I giving the best of me in everything I do, to every person I come in touch with? Am I even giving my best to me? Eating right? Am I giving my best in worshipping God? Am I giving my best...
Mercy, I have such a long way to go...
Need to start somewhere...
