In the movie Pretty Woman there was a prophet standing on the sidewalk saying "What's your dream..." words that move me.
Life is so full of dreams. How long has it been since you reviewed the current condition of your dreams? Are they still alive? Do they ever die?
If a dream seems to die it really doesn't. The ability to see the dream coming to fruition drives the life of the dream. Some dreams just never seem capable of being realized but it's not the dreams fault. Sometimes we just lose sight of the hope in the dream. We think I'll never be able to make that work and immediately the dream moves down a notch on the "working to accomplish list". Whatever the reason it's reason that eliminates the hope. That's why dreams are called dreams. Its the idea of accomplishing the dream that keeps the idea alive. Dreams really stay alive or die based on faith or doubt. So in evaluating a dream where do we start. I actually break this down into several points. First, is the dream hurtful to others or beneficial to all parties? Second, do I really have the heart to pursue the dream and do it in a manner than achieves the proper end result? The second item requires a lot of self evaluation and truth. Can I apply myself and my motivation in a manner that accomplishes the dream in a timely fashion without compromising family or obligations? The last question is a matter of honesty. Am I able to apply myself to this dream without faltering. Third, can I break the dream down into smaller steps working towards the big finish? This allows me to have small victories in the process of accomplishing the big dream. Fourth, A dream is somewhat like a business. What is the business plan for this dream? Fifth, what is the final goal for this dream? Never discount the idea that the dream can actually grow as pieces of the dream come together.
So, what are the small steps I can take to start working towards accomplishing the bigger dream. Whether it's cleaning an area in the garage to work on the dream and isolate that area just for dream work. Maybe it's spending a cold lazy afternoon writing down the overload of ideas and things that are required to accomplish the dream. Think about it.
This world is full of dreams that came to a fruitful place. It takes dreams and dreamers to progress a society. It takes dreams and dreamers to build a culture. The magnitude of dreams can't be discounted either. A dream may be building an outdoor kitchen. Another may be planting and working an organic garden. Both could be incorporated into a bigger dream by cultivating the organic garden into a small business supplying organic vegetables and herbs to a local group of buyers (including supplying food for a local soup kitchen...) which could also lead into a larger business for the local region. You could also offer construction services for all things outdoor. Outdoor kitchens, landscaping, greenhouses, horticulture classes, etc could be a part of your offering. Or it could simply be supplying vegetables for your family and friends and that would be enough. That's the beauty of dreams. Each one serves a purpose. Each one is inspired.
How many dreams have you left in your past? Are they dead... remember dreams don't die... the inspiration and drive to accomplish them does.
What's your dream...
I can't write without giving thanks to the Creator. If you think you're capable of originating dreams that are achievable and of great accomplishment for all, think again. Yahweh is the author of dreams. He also enables us to accomplish those dreams. Don't believe me? Ask him to rebirth the dreams he gave you long ago. You'll be surprised...
Blessings friends....
