Edit life?

No, I have not finished the book "The unsettling of America.
Daylight saving time went into effect last night. I actually like this change the best. It adds a little more daylight at the end of my day. So let's just leave it like this.
Beautiful sunrise this morning across the fields in front of my abode. It's a little foggy, moisture is heavy but not drenching, yet. There are storms forecast for this afternoon and evening but this is Oklahoma. The trees are budding already. There is a green tint everywhere you look.
I'm in awe of every day. Last night the frogs were barking in natures choir. They each had there own unique sound. It would be interesting to hear what they were saying. I am convinced it's not about just making noise. This is true of everything. Let's take dogs for example. They bark in a different tone when something is close that doesn't belong. They bark differently when they want to play. They bark anxiously when they hear the food hitting their bowls. It seems we can associate noise with every action.
Edit life, We are never truly stuck in any position. We always have a choice. Doesn't matter what it is there is always a choice. Ever feel like you want to change everything? Then change. We make excuses to account for the things that aren't right in our lives and by that I mean the things we say or do that hurt others mainly. Instead of saying something hurtful or demeaning say something encouraging, just be nice. Try it. Every  single one of us has the choice to respond in a manner that either drives people away, builds walls or welcomes others into our lives. Even if you don't wan this or that person invading your life you shouldn't cause them hurt just because you don't want anything to do with them. It's just not that difficult. Have I mastered this? Absolutely not! I have come to a place where I am starting to regulate my responses to not be hurtful. Need to vent your anger or frustration? find a release that doesn't involve hurting people. How did I come to this line of thoughts? I started writing a book about life in 3 square miles. The book is about what living inside of three square miles might be like. I thought about the place I live. In the three square miles around my house we have two gas stations, one is a mom and pop station that I prefer to use, the other is a big commercial outfit which also serves as a small truck-stop. What assumption did you just make? I am not against truck stops. I drove trucks for a great number of years and actually miss it tremendously but that's a different story. There is a local small town grocery store that is quite competitive with the wal-mart and big grocer that are 11-17 miles away. There are two banks, a veterinarian, a body shop, a tire store, two dentist office, a fire station, a tag agency, a post office, a car wash, a parts store, there's even an industrial business generator complex for new start ups. There is a school that includes all grades. Maybe seven churches again another story. There is an insurance agent, two antique stores, a donut shop/subway sandwiches, a pizza parlor, a sonic, a pharmacy, a dry cleaners, two museums, a large industrial power plant, a laundromat, a gym, the local water department has an office here, a very small equipment rental place (but growing). A cemetery, an ambulance service, a fire department, an auto repair facility, and a few I'm sure I've missed. The lake is three miles from my house. With all of that said it's still a very small rural community. If I was seriously limited to living inside three square miles how would it behoove me to be irresponsible and demeaning to anybody inside that three miles?
So maybe a life edit is in order. Before I speak take a moment to think about the effects of the words I utter. Even if someone else is rude to me I can take the high road and not respond in like manner. I propose we all look at life within three miles and try to live like it's the limits we are allowed to live in and no further. If we all looked at our three mile area, eventually all three mile areas would overlap and touch each other. Then if we all operated with the intent to make our three miles the most inhabitable and encouraging environment we would want to reside in we might actually make life more enjoyable for everyone. It's just a concept but concepts become reality when we set our eyes on the outcome we want. Every three miles has the opportunity to become a Mayberry but remember even Mayberry RFD had room for improvement.
Just think about it and see how it affects today.
Later....
