If pens could talk...

If a pen could tell it's history it might change the world. Do you have a favorite pen? If not, why not? there are so many types of pens with an infinite number of options. A favorite pen can open a world undiscovered by thousands of people. A favorite pen sets a record. When is the last time you wrote a note to someone you loved? Have you ever left a note in your child's lunch box or on their pillow? Have you ever added words to a card given to one you care for? What about a journal? A journal would be rather boring without the accompanying utility of an ink pen. What if Thomas Jefferson hadn't owned a pen? How about Rudyard Kipling or Ernest Hemingway? Galileo or the cartographers of old? The stories written by a favorite pen, the thought is overwhelming. All of the documents, treaties, love letters, inspirational writings, lofty thoughts of all the dreamers and just about everything we have a written record of was recorded using a pen.
I have started writing short stories. I am in search of a favorite pen. Right now I use a roller ball with a fine point, my color of choice is blue. This is not what I want my favorite pen to be but it is the most comfortable to use and presents the best results until I find the one I want to admonish as my "favorite" pen. There was a scene in the movie "a good year" where the young man is paying bills for his uncle using a fountain pen and green Waterman ink. I really hope my favorite pen is a fountain pen they are eclectic. I have read about the favorite pens of many famous authors and presidents and think the voluminous number of words written with a certain type of pen would lend great favor to the brand and model used. So I am searching. I like the convenience a computer affords but I live for the personalization of written words when presented with a favorite pen. Of course there are the typewriters too. I used to have a couple of antique Royal typewriters but they have been misplaced or borrowed over the years. I would love to have one or both of them back but not as much as I'd like to find my favorite pen. The weather tomorrow is supposed to be rainy and cold. It sounds like tomorrow will be a good day to continue my pursuit.
If I find the one I think I'll write a few letters. Can you imagine the look on my friend's faces when they get a hand written letter? This could be fun...
