This and that.... Hey Wait! Where have I been?????

The title really is my way of saying I've been lazy when it comes to continuing my efforts on this blog. Maybe not lazy but a lot preoccupied and quite busy.
So let's catch up. Never mind. Let's just run with my thoughts..
A word that keeps popping into my cranial gray matter is Whimsical.... what a strange word, one of many if you think about it. I would like to build a whimsical garden/landscape (with a secret gate to a secret garden where really funny, interesting, wonderful, adventurous, crazy, colorful things just seem to happen). A place where one can imagine there are snibles (and yes its a LOONNNGGGG I) and norbles and galags and hormuds and all the wonderful creatures that are just waiting to be discovered. Some with pink hair and others with rainbow polkadots but the really hard ones to find are disguised as tulips and trees and daffodils. Some of them ride on the wings of butterflies and others ride on the backs of really large green beetles. There must be a hammock for really long naps in the middle of the afternoon so daydreams can become prosperous and wonderful journeys. There'd be a creek with a pond so the fish could talk to each other and still have a place to go to have an adventure like on the other side of the pond. The frogs would be princes all dressed in dark violet while wielding small swords and always saying "pardon me" or "en guard!". Silly frogs but please don't tell them they're really just frogs because it would destroy there dreams and in a whimsical place dreams must survive or the whimsicals will leave. If questions arise the turtles will know because turtles really know just about everything that amounts to not much. That's why they wear glasses and move slowly because they must contemplate every single thing they encounter and question the reason the encounter took place because encounters mean friends and friends love encounters. This little garden would have chocolate trees and peppermint clovers stars that would shine even in daylight. The grass would be like velvet so one could never wear shoes because shoes ARE NOT ALLOWED in such a whimsical place. One could talk to the rocks and have quite amazing conversations because the rocks really do know things, they've been around a very long time. AND.... don't tell anyone but the rocks see everything because they never sleep..It's a place where a sneeze would sound like a snore and every time someone snored you would be required to giggle because giggles are like bless you's and laughs are really thanks you's. There would be no sadness or crying because the pirates that keep the secret gate do not allow frowns or tears to enter (that's why there's  a plank at the gate). When the pirates catch the bad things trying to enter the gate they make every bad thing walk the plank into the tank full of snarks and the snarks consume every bad thing that comes along, which makes them burp but burps sound like sneezes which means the snarks are always snoring and everyone is giggling and then the snarks and the pirates are laughing so if one doesn't hearing snoring, giggling, and laughing something may be terribly wrong. If something is terribly wrong then we must find the originator of whimsical so he can restore order in such a grand place! While one may wonder why not many PEOPLE visit the land of whimsical (which is such a wonderful place) it really is that not many people are willing to search for the secret gate and a lot of them are scared of the pirates and the snarks but a few are willing to at least try it out. They are the ones who really find out how wonderful life can be in the right light which reveals the greatest parts of life. While I can tell you about such a wonderful place I cannot take you there because you have to believe and I mean really believe that such a place exists and just when you really believe the gate will be right in front of your eyes, after all it's been there all along!
There are times in life when we run across people who just can't seem to catch a break. It seems like every time something good happens something else just jumps right out and steals their good and leaves them stranded in the bottom of the ditch. One of the ways we are able to help each other out of the bottom of the ditch is to lend a fresh set of eyes to the routines we face which may feel like hardships and strife no matter how much good tries to break through. I actually had an opportunity to help someone the other day that just couldn't seem to catch a break. While I listened to their story I kept thinking it was as if their life was being targeted by a sniper that liked to steal the good things that happened to them, not just once in a while but it seemed to them like it happened every single time. It happened so often they had decided they couldn't distinguish God's voice anymore. As I listened I kept thinking if you keep sticking your head up in the same place every time then every time you're going to get your block knocked off and wake up in the bottom of the ditch no matter what. So really the solution might be as simple as not sticking your head up in the same place every time. In other words, stop reacting to everything that happens in the same manner. With a puzzled look they inquired how that was supposed to happen. The best response I had at the moment was don't react immediately, stop for an extra moment and think about the way you reacted the last time you got your block knocked off. In that second of not responding choose a different course of response, move sideways and get out of the target zone. Don't stick your head up in the same place by responding differently than you have in the past. The best way to defeat an enemy and become the victor is to understand your enemy better than your enemy understands you. If your enemy can't figure out where you're going to stick your head up the enemy is going to have a really hard time being accurate and stealing your good times, joy, success, etc. A very good example of this is the story of King David in the old testament. Check it out, you'll discover a lot more than this little conversation plus you'll allow the Holy Spirit the opportunity to give you a taste of the goodness of God.
And in closing today I have a new saying... "Onward and upward until the next generation surpasses our capabilities!"
