There are times when sitting quietly becomes an effort in concentrating on shutting out all the noises that surround us... but should we?
Life is full of sights and sounds but we are so often paced to scramble past the details we miss the beauty of the details. It 's a lot like sitting on your front porch with no cell phone, television, or radio blaring in your ears. I am impressed that birds have a language. Did you know a turtle has a sound? Odds are you've never heard it. Have you listened to the different sounds raindrops make when they impact different types of trees, or different surfaces? Each raindrop has the potential to sound the same or similar to every other raindrop travelling with it. The difference occurs when the item the raindrop contacts releases a different sound, it's not really the raindrop that is different but it is the things the raindrops interact with. Did you know raindrops even cause the puddles, rivers and lakes to bring forth a different sound. Water on water has a sound... hmmm...
So we'll bring this into a kingdom correlation. Holy Spirit has a unique way of presenting the sound of raindrops in the kingdom. When Holy Spirit releases guidance he gives everything he interacts with the opportunity to create a sound. Do all of the Holy Spirits interactions with people sound alike? Not at all. To understand this, revisit the raindrop. It's not the raindrop that creates the sound. The sound is produced by the impact of the raindrop with an object and those impacts never are the same sound. So when Holy Spirit impacts people we create a unique sound that only we can create. Holy Spirit is really just giving us the opportunity to create a unique kingdom sound that is not replicated in anyone else. If we contort or draw away from that impact the sound we create is not a correct sound. It becomes distorted and loses the heart of the encounter. How do we contort or draw away from the sound we are given the opportunity to make? First by not having ears to hear Holy Spirit and the directive of the encounter. To enhance our ability to hear we are given unlimited opportunities to develop our hearing. It's not always a directive to deal with other people. More often it is an opportunity to develop us to a point we change our noise to reflect the encounter with Holy Spirit. That sound should produce the manner, fashion, and the fullness of the directive as intended, complete and not distorted. The second way to distort the encounter is to invoke what we think is required to produce the outcome we think God desires which will be completely different from the original directive. When we do this we actually show a lack of trust in the source of the directive or we think the delivery by Holy Spirit can't be correct. Sounds silly doesn't it but the reality is we do it every day. The third way is thinking we are spiritually mature beyond the spiritual maturity we actually operate in. The fourth and final point to discuss today is the condition of not being prepared or mature enough to operate at the level we want to operate in. This is a tough thing for us to deal with because we all want to be further along than we are. One of the ways to address this is to deny a competitive attitude and step into a humbled position of serving. Admitting what we don't know so we can begin to grow and mature beyond the roadblock of EGO. This one is so big it has many different names. Jealousy, Envy, Anger, Deceit, Gossip, Rumors, Backbiting, Vain imagination, Pride, Self servitude, and how many others. All of these must be denied to start the journey to develop a level of maturity required of kingdom seed in a kingdom garden.
If we are to begin the walk to a pure kingdom sound we must truly die to the stakes that have been driven in the ground we have walked. We cannot allow anything to shape us that does not line up with kingdom standards. If we cannot do this we are wasting our time and hurting everyone we come in contact with. Our response must be reshaped to develop, encourage and intercede for those around us with the heart of Jesus and nothing else. Think about the responses and words you have used today. Did those words reflect the true sound of a Holy Spirit encounter or did we contort, or even avoid the sound we were supposed to make?
Being a kingdom response and sound is not impossible to achieve. We must desire to be all that we are intended to be. We must be willing to lay down embarrassment. We must be able to hear the directives, then implement those directives to be the sound God intended us to be. We have such great potential.
We are coming to a time when we must mature into the bride we are supposed to be or just be, and just being is not enough.
I feel the need to address grace for a moment and it may irk some but before responding take a moment to reflect on grace. Grace is given for the things we are walking out at the time we are walking them out. If we choose to create a moment that requires His grace are we truly doing the things that please him? If we are operating according to God’s purpose in our life we will not operate in arena's where we think we need grace. We will receive His true grace when we are facing the things we must go through in life that we do not understand or have a revelation of. Simply take a moment to reflect on grace because while it is freely given it is not without conditions. Discover the "if's" of His promises and you'll get a revelation of grace.
Have a wonderful day.
Onward and upward until the next generation surpasses us, then we'll be the foundation they need to continue the progression.
